Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leadership professional to manage employees and store operations. You will plan, staff, train, evaluate, and ensure adherence to policies during daily store activities.

You will open/close the store regularly, manage inventory, pricing, and customer service, while maintaining safety standards and timely documentation. A retail background and strong people management are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel if needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two times weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, expense control and inventory.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; review plan and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure merchandise is presented with proper pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory levels and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and safety focus.
• Keep the store clean, organized and compliant; complete paperwork on time.
