Job summary

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (percentages, totals, estimates).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate a cash register/point-of-sale system (IBM).
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead a team.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and training staff; compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; lead meetings and events.
• Maintain store opening/closing routines; ensure security and cash controls.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and shrink; review ordering and stock levels weekly.
• Oversee merchandising presentation, pricing and signage; ensure display standards.
