Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead all aspects of store operations, including staffing, merchandising, ordering, receiving, stocking, and selling. You will oversee daily performance, train associates, and ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Responsibilities include recruiting and retaining staff, evaluating performance, managing cash and inventory, and maintaining a safe, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to recruit, train, and supervise staff.
• Knowledge of cash handling and POS procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and open/closed per schedule.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets and reviews inventory management issues.
• Facilitates staging and stocking of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation and signage meet standards.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels and cash controls.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment.
