Job summary

Dollar General seeks a store leadership professional to manage all employees and store processes. You will cover staffing, training, performance reviews, and compliance with labor laws while driving sales, inventory accuracy, and customer service excellence.

You will also oversee opening/closing, merchandising, and financial integrity through cash handling and reporting, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized store environment in line with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to perform cash register reports and inventory tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing, and compliant employment practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations, and coordinate meetings.
• Open and close store at required frequencies each week.
• Analyze operating statements for sales, profitability and shrink.
• Manage stock levels and inventory planning weekly.
• Ensure merchandising and pricing accuracy and display standards.
• Maintain cashier accountability and store security practices.
• Lead customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
