Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead a retail team in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee daily operations, including staffing, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state laws to deliver exceptional customer service.

You will be responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, managing schedules, and monitoring performance metrics to drive profitability and efficiency across store processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and conduct evaluations; identify gaps for solutions or counseling.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate safety meetings.
• Open/close the store at least two times per week each.
• Monitor sales, profitability, inventory, and expenses to identify trends.
• Ensure in-stock targets through ordering and cycle counts.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and pricing according to guidelines.
• Maintain accurate inventory and security controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store environment.
