Job summary

Blarney Castle Oil in Kalkaska Township, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily convenience store operations. You will lead staff, coach team members, and ensure superior service, cleanliness and product quality for customers.

Responsibilities include implementing company programs, managing shifts, tracking inventory, and maintaining safety and compliance with laws. Will require flexible hours and on-site presence at the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years progressively responsible retail experience.
• Good math skills for cash handling and inventory.
• Ability to read, write, understand and apply instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to work with others.
• Basic computer skills, POS experience helpful.
• Willing to work various shifts and be on-call.
• Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
• Age 18 or older due to age restricted product sales.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate customer-first attitude with immediate attention.
• Support Store Manager with program implementation and coaching.
• Delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide timely coaching to staff on shift.
• Assist with new employee training and feedback.
• Remain calm during high volume periods and manage transitions.
• Assist with marketing, fuel, and food strategies and promotions.
• Maintain pricing and inventory levels; order inventory as needed.
• Follow policies, comply with laws, train/coach as necessary.
• Report events or concerns to the Store Manager.
• Prepare deposits and reconcile daily receipts.
• Ensure safety policies and conduct safety meetings.
