MERS Goodwill is seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager for the Cape Girardeau Store - Silver Springs. The role supports the Store Manager to meet goals, supervise staff, and ensure top-notch customer service while modeling core values.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of management experience, and strong communication skills. Travel is minimal; benefits include health and retirement offerings. Bonus potential is up to $500 per month.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of management experience; prior Goodwill retail/warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
• Leadership skills: decision-making, goal-setting, problem-solving; ability to motivate and lead staff and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets to meet goals.
• Model and uphold core values, safety, ethics, and quality.
• Supervise, direct, and train staff; ensure essential functions are performed.
• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure donor/shopper retention and de-escalate issues.
• Coach employees about performance, including discipline up to termination.
• Identify and promote high-performing employees for advancement.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct.
• Follow all agency policies, procedures, and values.
• Utilize staffing methods; audit, edit, and approve payroll.
• Eliminate waste through process improvements.
• Monthly bonus up to $500.
