Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries seeks an Assistant General Manager for the Columbia Store - Grindstone. The role supports store operations, budgets, staffing, and customer service to advance the mission, Changing Lives Through the Power of Work.

Must have a High School Diploma/GED with at least one year of management experience; some college is preferred. Strong leadership, scheduling, and inventory skills are essential for success in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of management experience; Goodwill retail/warehouse experience preferred.
• Valid MO or IL driver’s license and insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; leadership and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets.
• Supervise and train staff; ensure performance of essential functions.
• Provide superior customer service to retain donors, shoppers, and staff.
• De-escalate customer dissatisfaction quickly and effectively.
• Coach employees on performance and discipline when needed.
• Assign daily duties to achieve operational tasks.
• Identify and recommend employees for advancement.
• Safeguard property and report any theft or misconduct.
