The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help the Store Manager with store operations and supervision of staff. Responsibilities include maintaining customer relations, enforcing policies, meeting budget goals, ensuring proper merchandising, interviewing applicants, training staff, payroll coordination, inventory orders, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in sales.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Ability to motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Ensure compliance to accounting, employee, and store policies.
• Assist the manager in meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals.
• Ensure production is moved from the back room to the sales floor.
• Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants.
• Assist in training, direction, and supervision of new personnel.
• Assist in evaluating store personnel and identifying development needs.
• Schedule sales associates to ensure full store coverage; post weekly schedules.
• Assist in completing payroll information biweekly for all store personnel.
• Order merchandise in the absence of the manager to ensure stock and proper display.
• Responsible for cash receipts accounting and safekeeping of funds.
• Submit sales reports to the finance department daily.
• Attend manager meetings and inform staff of new policies.
• Ensure safety measures comply with policy and regulations.
• May be asked to work at other store locations.
• Support the work therapy program by modeling professional conduct.
