Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our Brandon, MS location.

You will assist with merchandising, duties, and open/close procedures while maintaining a clean, organized store and ensuring safety and protocol adherence. Strong communication and leadership will be essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and written skills are required.
• Experience in store management in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and handle store operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day store activities and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor per company standards and organize merchandise.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activity.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Ensure clean, well‑stocked store areas and secure assets including cash.
• Train and develop Store Associates; ensure a respectful environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure safety.
