Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leader responsible for managing all store employees and day-to-day operations. You will plan and implement store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling and staffing while upholding company policies.

This role emphasizes training, evaluating performance, cash handling and inventory control, with regular duties to open and close the store, monitor security, and drive sales in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Strong cash handling procedures knowledge and deposit control.
• Experience in inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensures proper staffing.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, addresses gaps and counseling up to termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance expectations and coordinates safety meetings.
• Manages opening/closing routines and store staffing levels.
• Evaluates sales, profitability and shrink across operations.
• Oversees ordering and inventory cycles to meet in-stock targets.
• Ensures merchandising standards and pricing presentation are upheld.
• Maintains inventory controls and cash accountability within security policies.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership and maintains a safe, clean store.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and completes all required paperwork.
