Job summary

Ross Dress for Less - Plainfield is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, supervise and develop Associates, and uphold company standards.

You will manage scheduling, analyze store performance, ensure safety, and deliver outstanding customer service while driving merchandising and loss prevention initiatives across the sales floor. This role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate positively to Store Associates.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize those tasks, give direction, and follow through to completion.
• Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations and ensure adherence to company standards.
• Schedule Associates to meet business objectives.
• Control payroll hours as the primary controllable expense.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing non-exempt associates.
