Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a department operations leader to head day-to-day activities in a retail store. You will ensure staff are trained, the department is fully staffed, and operations meet company standards and KPIs.

You will order and maintain inventory, review orders for quality and quantity, and guide a team to maintain product quality, rotation, and housekeeping. Strong leadership and retail knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving.
• Leadership capabilities for a hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations and systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain department inventory, ensure product freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team handling stocking, production and tasks for quality and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with store products and promotions.
• Communicate the weekly Flight Plan and align with company timelines.
• Support scheduling, labor control, and payroll expenses for the department.
• Contribute to staffing, training, performance management and career development.
• Monitor department forecasts and goals in line with company expectations.
