Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a department operations leader for our Elkhart, IN store. You will oversee day-to-day department activities, ensure proper staffing and training, manage schedules and payroll, and drive goals to meet KPIs.

You’ll lead by example, ensure product freshness and safety, and collaborate in daily huddles and management meetings. Strong retail knowledge and supervisory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of retail experience preferred.
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem solving.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations and ensure staff are trained and fully staffed.
• Manage scheduling, labor control, and payroll expense for the department.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings; participate in district and company meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and ensure product freshness and safety compliance.
• Provide strong leadership to staff and develop associates’ performance and careers.
• Implement plans to meet company goals and key performance indicators.
