Job summary

Food Lion in Buena Vista, VA is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to oversee day-to-day operations, drive sales, and uphold safety, service, and quality standards across the store.

You will hire, train and develop associates; manage performance and budgets; ensure compliance with security, safety and food safety standards; and lead the store when the Store Manager is not present. Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to lead and manage associates across departments.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position and age requirements.
• NRFSP accreditation or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to reflect Guiding Principles
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast service
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents
• Observe and ensure compliance with security, safety, and food safety standards
• Understand and use company tools and systems (ACIS, CAO, reports)
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results
• Serve as Manager on Duty when Store Manager is not present
• Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations
