Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is hiring for a full-time Retail Store Manager position in Lake Forest, CA. You will lead day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure excellent customer and donor service in a busy store environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, POS operations, inventory control, payroll and scheduling, and driving sales to meet budget goals while maintaining ARC standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must pass background check and have access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager in day-to-day store operations: opening/closing, POS, inventory, donations, and merchandising.
• Manage daily operations in the absence of the Store Manager, including personnel and cash handling.
• Monitor KPIs to drive sales and profitability as per budget and goals.
• Schedule employees to ensure coverage; lead daily meetings; maintain payroll records and time/attendance.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, training, and coaching of store staff.
• Communicate personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager and HR.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and develop strategies to improve service.
• Support Back Room Processing to meet daily processing goals.
• Oversee supervision and reporting of program beneficiaries when Work Therapy is used.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; ensure security and alarm protocols.
• Adhere to ARC safety policies and report issues; participate in safety meetings.
• May transfer to other stores as needed; complete assigned tasks from leadership.
