Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a flexible and customer-focused Key Carrier for Homesense in Princeton, NJ.

This role blends leadership with hands-on store duties, ensuring a positive shopping experience and adherence to company standards. As a Key Carrier, you will support coordination, act as Manager on Duty when needed, coach Associates, and help maintain store operations, safety, and inventory accuracy while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in retail or service industries.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory potential.
• Ability to coach and mentor Associates.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
• Flexible with schedule including nights and weekends.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced store.

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Acts as Manager on Duty adhering to company policy and procedure
• Ensures store team performs tasks and activities in accordance with store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Addresses immediate customer service issues and provides appropriate coaching to Associates
• Exercises discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers
• Maintains accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience
• Ensures Associates adhere to all operational procedures
• Ensures opening/closing procedures are executed according to company guidelines
• Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
• Provides feedback, recognition and coaching to Associates
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports and participates in shrink reduction goals and programs
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned
