Job summary

At Home is seeking an Assistant Store Manager - Operations in Asheville, NC to assist the Store Manager in leading store operations, finances, and team development for a large-format retail environment.

The role requires coaching, talent development, scheduling accuracy, and a focus on customer experience, profitability, and safety. Strong communication and leadership are essential for driving performance and conveying At Home's values across the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a big-box or high-volume retail environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams of 20+ Team Members and manage $5M+ in annual revenue or budget.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS/workforce scheduling systems.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and comprehension) and ability to adapt to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of store operations to meet sales, profit, and performance goals while delivering a customer-focused experience.
• Attract, hire, and develop talent with succession planning for long-term growth.
• Coach and develop staff to improve performance and internal career growth.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll accuracy, and operational plans to drive sales and control expenses.
• Plan and supervise operations including opening/closing and front-end processes for efficiency.
• Direct freight, inventory, stocking, and merchandising to maintain in-stock conditions and visual standards.
• Lead efforts in customer satisfaction, loss prevention, and cash handling.
• Address Team Member and customer concerns with urgency and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws; foster a safe environment.
• Model At Home values to build a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
• Lead team communication through regular huddles and meetings.
