Job summary

Johnny’s Markets in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead second and third shifts and to stand in for the Store Manager when needed. You’ll help keep the store clean, stocked, safe, and welcoming during morning, noon, and night while delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll oversee HR duties, training and scheduling, and supervise staff while aligning with company goals to boost sales and manage expenses. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with employees, customers, supervisors, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to multi-task.
• Valid driver's license and a personal vehicle.
• College degree or two years related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and email).
• Willingness to work any area of the store and operate a computerized register.
• Ability to bend, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and frequently carry up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set the bar for customer service and ensure friendly, efficient service.
• Provide guidance to keep the team and store looking their best.
• Handle HR duties including training, scheduling, and supervising staff.
• Follow store goals to maximize sales while controlling expenses.
• Partner with suppliers and vendors professionally.

• Stay on top of store bookwork and share documents with home office.
