Job summary

Family Dollar in Camp Springs, MD is seeking a motivated Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, loss prevention, and staff training while delivering a positive shopping experience. The role requires strong communication and physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform various physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Open and close procedures; process directives and communications.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash; ensure safety policies are followed.
• Help in training and developing Store Associates; supervise when needed.
