Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee day-to-day store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and store cleanliness to ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and the stamina to work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail setting. Part-time hours may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
