Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of Store Management and support plan-o-gram maintenance and customer service. The role focuses on accurate cash handling, stock management, merchandising, and safe, efficient store operations.

You will greet customers, assist with product location, and ensure store standards are met while following company policies and procedures. This position emphasizes teamwork and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the store's prescribed process.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate stock.
• Restock returned merchandise and maintain cleanliness.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise.
• Operate the cash register, total purchases, and give change.
• Open and/or close the store as directed by the Area Manager.
