Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support daily store operations and customer service. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will lead cash handling, supervise cashiers, and ensure plan-o-gram adherence while maintaining a welcoming shopping environment.

You will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, assist customers, and keep the front end organized. This role emphasizes efficiency, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the store's prescribed process.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves and build displays.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases; bag merchandise.
• Greet customers and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
• Assist in opening/closing the store under manager direction.
• In manager's absence, authorize refunds and monitor cashier accountability.
