Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who may lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The role supports plan-o-grams, cashier functions, and customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. The position emphasizes teamwork and profitability in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Strong interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-grams implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; empty trash and dust.
• Greet customers entering the store; assist at the front end.
• Maintain register countertops and bag area; set up counter plan-o-grams.
• Operate cash register and scanner; bag customer purchases.
• Collect payments and make change.
• Clean front end and assist with sidewalk displays.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow SOPs and company policies.
