Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is a major retail chain seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and daily operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving and stocking.
• Maintain inventory and control damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Assist in planograms and merchandising presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
