Dollar General Corporation invites applications for an Assistant Store Manager. You will support the Store Manager in leading staff, merchandising, and daily store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding assets.

Your role includes supervising employees, ensuring accurate cash handling, coordinating deposits, and maintaining planograms and stock levels. This position emphasizes customer-first service and operational integrity.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems across various situations.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to operate a cash register and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers at the checkout.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with employee scheduling and training; lead safety meetings.
• Follow processes for receiving, stocking, and merchandising; build displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory; manage damages, markdowns, and scans.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cash control, refunds, overrides, tills, and bank deposits are handled securely.
• Assist in Store Manager's absence and general store coverage.
