Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandising and deposits, and ensure policy compliance.

You will perform stocking, cashiering, and banking tasks while optimizing profitability and reducing losses. Prior supervisory experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings; ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays and rotation per planograms.
• Support inventory accuracy by handling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with cashier accountability, deposits, and cash controls; sign for refunds/overrides.
• Assist Store Manager in absence to manage store operations.
