Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, the Assistant Store Manager assists with supervision of store employees, management and presentation of merchandise, completion of paperwork, and preparation of deposits.

The Assistant Store Manager also performs stocking and cashiering functions, and performs other duties as necessary to maximize profitability and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and process transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and planograms according to standards.
• Assist in inventory control, including damages, markdowns, and stocking.
• Support cash handling, deposits, and store security procedures; assist in manager's absence.
