Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits and daily store operations under the Store Manager’s direction.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, inventory control, and enforcing company policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, display, markdowns and restocking.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, scans, paperwork and security controls.
• Support planogram implementation and ensure proper product presentation as directed.
