Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Jackson, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, handle merchandising, and help supervise and train staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and ability to read/interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
