Job summary

Coastal Farm & Ranch is seeking a Manager-on-Duty to oversee daily store operations, promote customer service, and maximize sales and profitability. You will supervise staff, manage schedules, and coordinate merchandise displays while ensuring compliance with security and recordkeeping standards.

In this role you may handle payroll responsibilities, assist the Store Manager, and step in during absences to ensure smooth daily operations. Strong retail experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Eagle Browser preferred.
• Experience with multiple store departments preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of operating a POS system preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain and possess valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and shift priorities.
• Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
• Familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.
• Familiar with reading and understanding industry and financial reports.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sales promotion activities and merchandise displays and signage.
• Recruit, train, develop, and communicate with staff; assess performance regularly.
• Plan and prepare work schedules for associates.
• Monitor and order merchandise to replenish stock.
• Ensure compliance with security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Address and resolve customer complaints or inquiries.
• Open and close the store when needed, including security duties.
• Manage payroll budget and fiscal responsibilities with corporate office.
• In the absence of the Store Manager, assume duties to maintain daily operations.
