Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store with effective supervision of staff and accurate cash handling. You will assist with merchandising, inventory, deposits and store security, under the Store Manager’s direction.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, staff training, safety meetings, and enforcing company policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandising follows guidelines.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, refunds, and deposits.
• AssistStore Manager in their absence.
