Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and prepare deposits while protecting assets.

You will also perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction, including opening/closing routines, scheduling, training, and enforcing store policies.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Cash register and reporting knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and cash control.
• Assist store management in the Store Manager's absence.
