Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise, deposits, and daily operations.

You will assist with scheduling, training, planograms, and cash controls while supporting profitability and asset protection. This role requires reliability and attention to detail, with availability to open/close at least two days per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of retail experience; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, rotating, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise presentation as directed.
• Assist in maintaining cash control: cashier accountability, key control, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
