Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States. You will help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus and assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, deposits and cash control.

You will also stock, cashier, and support profitability while protecting assets. You may open/close the store several days per week, assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings, and ensure planograms are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; supervisory experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail experience; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a cash register, scanner and POS system.
• Ability to manage inventory, planograms and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership and assist with cashier duties.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees.
• Manage merchandise presentation, stocking, and planograms.
• Help ensure financial integrity with refunds, deposits and audits.
• Support Store Manager in their absence.
