Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with corporate directives.

Responsibilities include supervising associates, opening/closing duties, and maintaining a safe, welcoming store environment while delivering strong customer service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred; ability to read and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Incorporate corporate directives and ensure compliance with store policies.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering and processing damaged merchandise; payroll and scheduling duties.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and adhere to safety policies.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and well-maintained, including restrooms and floors.
