Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. You will assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashier tasks to maximize profitability and protect assets.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, scheduling, training, inventory control, planograms, and ensuring policy compliance. The role supports the Store Manager and may assume duties in their absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and control damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation as directed.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability, custody of funds, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
