Job summary

Safeway seeks a Third Person in Charge to run store operations in the absence of the Store Director and ASD. You will supervise staff, resolve customer issues, and help with hiring and training for a fast-paced retail environment.

You will coordinate with late-shift teams, oversee merchandising, pricing, and display execution, and contribute to safe, high-quality customer service. This role offers growth into management through leadership development programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four+ years of retail experience required.
• Retail grocery experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage store operations during closing shifts in the absence of the Store Director and Store Director.
• Supervise staff and handle customer complaints in the absence of SD/ASD.
• Train new employees and assist with hiring processes.
• Coordinate with late shift staff on daily operations and special sales needs.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and merchandising."
• Develop marketing and merchandising plans with department leads and clerks.
• Prepare night stocker and day stocker task lists to ensure smooth closing and opening.
