Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Store Manager-on-Duty to oversee daily operations, promote customer service, and drive sales profitability. You will supervise staff, manage schedules, monitor inventory, and ensure security and proper recordkeeping in a retail environment.

The role requires strong communication, adaptability, and experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office. You may be asked to operate forklift or propane in some locations, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a retail environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with store operations and clerical tasks.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Adaptable to changing work environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sales promotion activities and merchandise displays.
• Recruit, train, develop, and communicate with staff and assess performance.
• Plan and prepare work schedules to assign associates to duties.
• Monitor and order merchandise from distribution center to replenish stock.
• Ensure compliance with security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Address and resolve customer complaints or inquiries.
• Open and close the store, including security duties.
• Manage payroll budget and store costs with corporate.
• In the absence of the Store Manager, assume all duties to operate daily.
