Job summary

The Salvation Army in Hawaii seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations of the retail thrift store, drive sales, manage donations and inventory, and ensure service aligned with ARC rehabilitation programs.

You will supervise staff, train volunteers, monitor KPIs, handle cash, and maintain safety and regulatory compliance; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR, and have access to a vehicle.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day store operations including POS, inventory management, and donations.
• In the Store Manager's absence, assume responsibilities for daily operations and supervision of staff.
• Monitor key performance indicators to drive store sales and profitability as per budgets and goals.
• Schedule staff coverage and coordinate daily meetings; maintain payroll records and attendance edits.
• Assist with hiring, training, and performance coaching of all store staff.
• Communicate personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager and HR as needed.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and maintain community relations.
• Support Back Room Processing and warehouse staff to meet processing goals.
• Provide supervision and reporting for Beneficiaries under ARC Work Therapy assignments when applicable.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; ensure security and alarm protocols.
• May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
• Complete all tasks assigned by leadership.
