Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Stores in Hawaii seeks an Assistant Manager in Waipahu. This full-time role supports daily store operations, customer service, and fundraising goals under the Store Manager. The ideal candidate has retail management experience, strong leadership, and communication skills, plus a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, payroll, security, and ensuring excellent service to donors and customers while maintaining ARC program collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years retail management/supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license with ability to pass MVR and show proof of insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
• Schedule staff and coordinate daily meetings; maintain payroll records and attendance.
• Train and develop store team; provide performance feedback.
• Maintain customer and donor satisfaction and community relations.
• Ensure security of currency, inventory, and property; monitor safety and compliance.
• Prepare and participate in weekly store meetings and safety meetings.
