Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with day-to-day store activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and supporting the Store Manager.

This part-time role involves supervising staff, processing directives, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for shoppers and team members in Easton, Maryland.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and record keeping.
• Maintain clean and organized store areas.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines and store procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
