Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and organize merchandise from delivery to floor.

The role includes opening/closing procedures and adherence to company policies. The position emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with responsibilities including payroll, scheduling, and loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure assets.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates, ensure policy adherence.
• Provide a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
