Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Zachary, LA location. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train Store Associates while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

The role emphasizes operational efficiency, loss prevention, and adherence to corporate directives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking and standing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and overall promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, and areas neat.
