Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, supervise associates, perform opening/closing procedures, and uphold safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment for customers.

This role also involves handling stock, loss prevention, and executing corporate directives while maintaining attractive displays and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Provide a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and colleagues.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
