Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in New Orleans. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, and organize merchandise from delivery to floor while maintaining seasonal areas.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, enforce safety and policies, manage opening/closing procedures, and help control inventory, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks typical for store roles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.
• Commitment to customer service and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives and store policies.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash and equipment.
• Train and develop Store Associates and supervise as needed.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of store and restrooms and manage waste.
