Job summary

Five Below is hiring for an hourly Store Manager on Duty role in Evanston, IL. You will lead crew, ensure fast, friendly checkouts, and oversee daily activities to deliver top service.

In this role you will manage stock, train associates, and drive sales while maintaining store operations. The position requires at least 1 year of management experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• College experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Creative thinking.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure crew wow customers with personal contact and train on the BEST customer service experience.
• Oversee daily activities of store associates to ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing stock.
• Act as Manager on Duty when needed, handling store operations and staff.
• Open/close the store, secure cash, lock doors, set alarms.
• Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates.
• Drive store sales and control expenses through merchandising and staff performance.
• Partner with store leadership on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
• Perform store maintenance including cleaning and stock room upkeep.
