Job summary

Family Dollar in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver customer service, and coach team members. This role supports the Store Manager in daily activities, ensuring a welcoming environment and adherence to company standards.

You will assist with merchandising, scheduling, payroll, loss prevention, and opening/closing procedures, while maintaining neat stockrooms and sales floors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment and professional interactions.
• Other duties as assigned.
