Job summary

Family Dollar in East Point, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager responsible for store operations, customer service, and developing a high-performing team.

You will assist with daily tasks, organize stock, train associates, enforce policies, and maintain safety and professional customer interactions.

This hands-on role requires strong communication and reliability to ensure a clean, well-stocked store and positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties such as walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked, clean, and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
