Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Atlanta, GA to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, welcoming store environment.

The ideal candidate has retail leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to train and supervise Store Associates in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties such as walking, standing, bending, and stair climbing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional efficiency of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
